Beyond Excellence: Cheney’s London Experience with Joico
As the owner of Vital Salon in Taunton, one of the most rewarding parts of my job is seeing our team take on new opportunities, grow creatively, and come back full of inspiration. Recently, Cheney had one of those moments—attending Joico’s Beyond Excellence event in Shoreditch, London. And let me tell you, the impact it’s had already is incredible.
Held at the stunning White Rabbit Studios, this was no ordinary education event. It was a fully immersive two-day experience, bringing together some of Europe’s top stylists and creatives.
“From the moment I walked in, I knew it was going to be something special,” Cheney told me. “There was so much energy, and being surrounded by such talented people really pushed me to think bigger.”
Over two days, Cheney got stuck into advanced demos, behind-the-scenes photoshoots, new product insights, and real, hands-on creative work. She also connected with industry pros from all over Europe, swapping ideas and soaking up every moment.
“It wasn’t just about technique—though I learned so much. It was also about mindset, teamwork, and client connection,” she shared.
Joico really went all out with the experience—from beautiful rooftop dinners to incredible Indian street food. But what left the biggest impression on Cheney was seeing the Joico products we use every day in a totally new light.
“It reminded me how versatile Joico is,” she said. “The formulas we work with at Vital are incredibly high-performing—and this trip really proved how far you can push them creatively.”
Now back behind the chair at Vital Salon, Cheney is brimming with new ideas and a fresh sense of purpose.
