The awards - now in their 24th year - recognise the hardworking names that have built outstanding salon businesses, helping to make British hairdressing the most respected in the world. From standout salons and exemplary teamwork to groundbreaking innovations and trailblazing individuals, HJ’s British Hairdressing Business Awards are an annual celebration of business brilliance.

Elen Osborne made the final stage of the awards after compiling a detailed entry, outlining the skills and qualities that make her a future hairdressing star. She now faces an in-depth interview with a panel of expert judges before winners are announced at HJ’s British Hairdressing Business Awards on Monday 4th July at London’s Park Plaza Westminster Bridge, to an audience of some of the industry’s most prolific names.

Elen says: ‘I’m thrilled to have made the finals of such a respected event. Hairdressing is my passion - I’m constantly striving to be better and to learn from those around me. The industry is full of amazing opportunities and I can’t wait to experience more!’

Jayne Lewis-Orr, executive director of the British Hairdressing Business Awards says: ‘These awards are recognition of the standout people and businesses in the hairdressing industry, celebrating their talent, passion and commitment to making British hairdressing so revered. To make the Assistant/Junior of the Year shortlist, nominees need to demonstrate a passion for their craft and a hunger to learn, with a positive attitude and plenty of enthusiasm. Elen should feel incredibly proud to be recognised for her ambition and focus.’

A total of 17 trophies will be handed out at the finals, including the new for 2022 Sustainable Salon of the Year award, which recognises salons that put sustainability at the forefront of their business, making real, impactful changes and blending environmentally friendly practices with exceptional hair services. Launched in 1998, HJ’s British Hairdressing Business Awards have previously honoured names including Lee Stafford, Trevor Sorbie and TONI&GUY.
