There are two types of people in this life, those who relish standing around the office microwave for 3 minutes while their Tomato soup heats up, and those who spend their entire lives eating lukewarm food because avoiding small talk is something of an Olympic sport.
If you fall into the latter group, getting your hair done may fill you with a similar sense of dread to that microwave experience, however, Somerset-based hairdressers, Vital we are hoping to change that with our new 'silent' service.
That's right, no longer will you have to bury your head into a magazine to try and stave off small talk or wait patiently for the conversation to tail off, We promise to give our guest some much-needed "quiet time", if you ask for a 'silent' cut or colour when you book an appointment, the only chatting you will engage in is your consultation to discuss what your looking for with your new 'do.
Aside from any other hair related queries during the service, there will be no other talking whatsoever. No "have you got any holidays planned?", no weather observations, or "busy week" discussions, just you and your inner thoughts for the next few hours…
We believe in being a ‘non judgment’ company we needed to consider all our clients needs. With mental health issues on the rise, feeling comfortable to say when you need time out couldn't be more important.
If you are someone who purposefully loiters around the office microwave, this is definitely not the service for you. However if you need that time out or dread making small talk then this maybe perfect for you.
